assess_financial_data_quality

Audits selected mapped metrics for SEC XBRL coverage, stale-line flags, source filing accessions, and period-end alignment.

Analysts and engineers validating source coverage and traceability in a financial-data workflow.

What it does

Review SEC XBRL coverage, stale line-item flags, filing accession provenance, and period-end alignment for selected metrics. Defaults to revenue, netIncome, totalAssets, totalLiabilities, operatingCashFlow, capex. Missing facts remain unavailable rather than zero; findings describe coverage and traceability, not accounting errors or investment advice.

Coverage and provenance details by metric and period, including unavailable facts and any stale-line indicators.

What to expect

Coverage and provenance details by metric and period, including unavailable facts and any stale-line indicators.

Important limits

A coverage warning identifies a data limitation to review; it does not establish that a company's accounting is incorrect. Missing facts remain unavailable rather than zero.

Data sources and verification

EdgarStack uses SEC EDGAR filings and, for applicable tools, SEC XBRL company-facts data. Coverage depends on the issuer, filing, taxonomy tags, and tool inputs. Follow the source filing references and verify material facts against the official filing.
