analyze_financial_trends

Summarizes selected SEC XBRL metrics across annual or reported-quarterly observations. It compares adjacent quarters and actual year-over-year period ends, and calculates endpoint CAGR in annual mode.

Researchers examining a company's reported trajectory over several years or quarters.

What it does

Summarize annual or reported-quarterly SEC XBRL history for selected metrics with changes, guarded growth rates, and filing provenance. Quarterly mode compares adjacent reported quarters and matches year-over-year quarters by actual period end; missing periods are not imputed. Annual mode also returns endpoint CAGR. Defaults to revenue, operatingIncome, netIncome, operatingCashFlow, capex. Historical analysis only, not a forecast or financial advice.

Historical observations, period-over-period changes, guarded growth rates, source filing provenance, and annual endpoint CAGR when applicable.
