get_insider_activity

Retrieves recent Forms 3, 4, and 5 insider activity and decodes SEC transaction codes such as open-market purchases, sales, exercises, and grants.

Researchers tracking reported transactions by officers, directors, and other covered owners.

What it does

Recent insider transactions — officers, directors, and >10% owners buying or selling their own company's stock, reported to the SEC within 2 business days of the trade. Covers Forms 3, 4, and 5. Decodes each transaction's SEC code (P=open market purchase, S=open market sale, M=option/RSU exercise, F=tax withholding, A=grant/award, etc.) and includes a buy/sell summary. Scoped to Forms 3/4/5 only — this does NOT cover institutional 13F holdings or >5% beneficial ownership (13D/13G).

Transaction records, decoded transaction types, reporting context, and a buy/sell summary where available.

This covers Forms 3, 4, and 5 only. It does not cover institutional 13F holdings or 13D/13G beneficial-ownership filings, and reported transactions do not by themselves establish intent.

Data sources and verification

EdgarStack uses SEC EDGAR filings and, for applicable tools, SEC XBRL company-facts data. Coverage depends on the issuer, filing, taxonomy tags, and tool inputs. Follow the source filing references and verify material facts against the official filing.
