What it does
List, add or remove companies on the customer's filing watchlist (up to 10), or check it now. EdgarStack checks every weekday morning and emails a digest when a watched company files a new 10-K, 10-Q or 8-K: a link to each filing, what an 8-K is about, and for 10-K/10-Q which sentences changed in Risk Factors / MD&A versus the previous filing. "check" runs that check immediately and emails the digest if anything is new. Adding a company starts tracking from its current filings, so the first alert comes with its next filing.
The current watchlist or check status; an immediate check reports whether alerts were sent and which channels were used.
Who it helps
Subscribers who want to monitor future 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K filings for selected companies.
Inputs
Input names and constraints below come from the registered MCP tool schema.
| Input | What it controls |
|---|---|
| action required | ZodEnum Allowed: list, add, remove, check. |
| ticker required | Required for add and remove |
Example request
Add Apple to my filing watchlist, then show the companies I am tracking.
{
"action": "add",
"ticker": "AAPL"
}What to expect
The current watchlist or check status; an immediate check reports whether alerts were sent and which channels were used.
Important limits
Requires a subscriber API key tied to an account; demo keys do not have a watchlist. Adding starts tracking from current filings, so the first alert is for a later filing. The check action can send email and is not read-only.
Data sources and verification
EdgarStack uses SEC EDGAR filings and, for applicable tools, SEC XBRL company-facts data. Coverage depends on the issuer, filing, taxonomy tags, and tool inputs. Follow the source filing references and verify material facts against the official filing.
