build_financial_model

Generates a branded Excel workbook with SEC-sourced historical data, editable forecast assumptions, Base/Upside/Downside scenarios, DCF and sensitivity analysis, Model Checks, and Audit Flags.

Analysts who want a reviewable workbook built from reported company history and explicit assumptions.

What it does

Generate a formula-driven five-year annual Excel workbook for a US-listed company: metric-specific SEC accession notes, Source Data, Standardized Data, editable assumptions, average-equity ROE, a historical working-capital view, and Base/Upside/Downside forecasts with year-specific margin, tax, and share-count assumptions. When available, forecast working capital from DSO/DIO/DPO. The workbook includes a DCF with illustrative CAPM/WACC inputs, terminal-value sensitivity, a Dashboard, formula-driven Model Checks, and Audit Flags. Missing data displays as n/a; a generation-time formula scan is included. DCF assumptions are not market-verified and the output is not a target price. Annual periods only (quarterly company facts have a structural Q4 gap). Ask whether the user wants the optional Valuation tab before setting includeValuation — it pulls a live Finnhub price snapshot.

An Excel download link and workbook-generation status; source accessions and missing data are represented in the workbook.

Data sources and verification

EdgarStack uses SEC EDGAR filings and, for applicable tools, SEC XBRL company-facts data. Coverage depends on the issuer, filing, taxonomy tags, and tool inputs. Follow the source filing references and verify material facts against the official filing.
